- Carry out bookkeeping tasks on clients as directed
- Take on projects to correct clients bookkeeping systems
- Perform Bank reconciliations for all clients
- Perform all relevant control account reconciliations as directed
- Use Dext and other apps as directed to improve the efficiency of the work we do
- Prepare VAT returns ready for review by the client manager
- Plan own time to maximum efficiency, manage personal time and working practices to maximize profitability and protect the good reputation of the firm.
- Maintain the highest standards of personal organisation.
- Consistently achieve good feedback from clients and staff by delivering a high standard of client service both internally and externally.
- Comply with the firm’s policies, procedures and ethical standards.
- Fulfil ongoing obligation to Continuing Professional Development and take an active role in own personal development
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in the use of accounting software such as Xero, Sage, Big Red Book, Quick Books etc.
- Knowledge of core accounting apps such as Dext
- Ability to use sector software, in particular Excel, Word and e-mail systems.
- To be able to draft letters which are commercially sensible and appropriate to the client's situation
- Effective communication skills – fluency in English essential.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work well within a team but also to be able to work alone
- Be solutions focused.
