What We’re Looking For: 

While a background in finance is not required, we do seek graduates with at least 430 Leaving Certificate Points (or equivalent) and a 2:1 degree. A passion for accountancy and a drive to excel are what truly matter.

As a Tax Junior, you'll be

• Conducting technical tax research  

• Producing tax computations  

• Advising clients on their tax requirements  

• Negotiating with The Revenue Commissioners

• Studying towards your Professional Qualification

As an Audit Junior, you'll be

• Working on audit and accounts preparation assignments with your team  

• Collaborating closely with your mentor on audit planning and client accounts  

• Performing analytical reviews and drafting client correspondence  

• Preparing financial statements and accounts  

• Studying towards a Professional Qualification

• Working closely with your mentor on audit planning memorandum,  Analytical reviews, 

• Drafting client letters, 

• Preparing accounts and producing sets of financial statements,

• Studying towards a Professional Qualification.

What We’re Looking For: 

You don’t need to be studying business or accounting to intern at Baker Tilly – we accept applications from all degrees and disciplines. Academic requirements are considered alongside your strengths and motivations.

Your Impact and Responsibilities  

During your internship you will get an insight on what its like to be a trainee. The work you do will depend on the department you are placed in.

In Accounting & Financial Advisory, you will work on preparing financial statements, bookkeeping and VAT returns.

In the Audit team you may be helping with audit assignments for a range of clients from Irish SMEs to subsidiaries of foreign companies.

If you join our Tax team you'll help conducting technical tax research, producing tax computations and learn from your mentor how to advise clients on their tax requirements .

This gives you first-hand experience on how we work. No matter what department you are in, you will learn vital skills required for the workplace such as problem solving, communication, teamwork and time management.

The length of your Internship at Baker Tilly can vary depending on work placement requirements (typically 6-8 months) or whether it’s for the summer period (3 months).

An internship at Baker Tilly also allows you the opportunity to then move forward to our Graduate Programme for when you finish your studies. We provide training to understanding the various professional qualifications and training routes you can take as a graduate.
